This is what i saw when i came on the campside.... the first view !!!!
Between trees and hedges , i found my place.... (Well i just forgot to take pictures of my place.) It was a nice Mobil home down the campside. We had everything exept a fireplace 'cos the nights were very cold.
Here you've got the restaurant IN the campside and the swimming pool (i took this picture at 08.00 am : everyone's sleeping!!!!! that's why it seems so quiet)
Just sit down and appreciate the coming days ....

Every wednesday morning (we leave the campsite at 09.00 am), the Camping International organise a walk to the Roc. It's quite nice !!! Everyone can come: the way is very easy and the view on the top is wonderful.
This is where we're going ....

The road to the Roc is an ancient pilgrimage way.
To go on the top, the road goes all around the mountain. It permits to appreciate differents views.

Notre Dame du Roc:

On the top the landscape stretch out to the horizon ....
We can see the campsite which seems put down at the bottom of the mountain

Vertiginous !!!!!!

The both ways to go up .... or down ....

The way of return ( this one which goes down on the above picture) finishes to the center of Castellane. We arrive just behind the church.(around 11.00 am )

Then we've got all time that we need to enjoy the market ...

I've tried the train des Pignes. it's a very small train , so typical ....

it's useful for people who want to go to Nice whithout taking their own car. It's just stop on the center of Nice.
It's something to try if you'll come in the region. The station is to St André les Alpes : 20 min by car from Castellane.

By lou, Wednesday 26 July 2006 at 18:34 :: Organized hikes in the Gorges du Verdon
On thrusday i've done the organised hike in the Gorges du Verdon. We were with 26 persons... We lelf the camping at 07.45 am and a bus drove us 'til le chalet de la Maline. It was 09.00 am when we really started!!!
Let's see at some views

The most upsetting way of all the hike:

At 01.00 pm we've made a break near a natural beach.

some of us took advantage of it to swim in the Verdon

The end of the hike finishes with two dark tunnels then we took the road 'til the bus stop.

Just an advice : Do it !!!
